this is not another article on how to scout your soybean
fields for rust. FastField Diagnosis is how we at
Hefty Seed Company service our products AFTER the
sale. From time to time, you may not achieve the weed
control you expected from your herbicide, or you may
have difficulties with your seed, fertilizer, equipment,
or any other name-brand product youve bought
from Heftys. When you purchase anything from
us, we will do everything we can to give you a high
quality product, help you achieve great results from
that product on your farm, and ultimately, help you
make more money because of your purchase. However,
when things go wrong, you can expect industry-leading
service at Heftys, and thats what FastField
Diagnosis is all about.
The
process will start when you call your local Hefty
location (or our main office) and describe the problem.
We will then need the following from you to speed
the process along: name, contact info (preferably
a cell phone number so that we can reach you before
we come out), the product used, date of application,
rate of application, total acres affected, any additives
or tank mixes used with the product, gallons of water
used per acre, P.S.I. used, weather conditions on
the day of application, rainfall since the day of
application, prior year chemical, and weed height
at time of application. Having this information available
when you call will greatly speed the process.
At
this point the responsibility shifts to your local
Hefty agronomist. They will fill out the FastField
Diagnosis sheet and fax a copy to the representative
from the company that needs to be contacted and also
fax a copy to the Baltic headquarters so that everyone
has documentation. We will also contact the representative
by phone so that we can be on your farm within 48
hours of you calling us. We want to be there as quickly
as possible so between you, our agronomist, and the
company rep, we can all figure out what went wrong
so it doesnt happen again. One suggestion well
make to you is this
reps are always more willing
to work with you if you are courteous and calm. We
understand that anytime your expectations arent
met, you may be unhappy, but please help us help you
get the best settlement possible, if thats what
the situation warrants.
After
we have been on your farm and viewed the problem,
all parties sign off on the bottom of the FastField
Diagnosis sheet. This is to ensure that everyone is
in agreement as to the problem and the solution. If
you will receive money for a respray or a replant,
the money should be on your account at Heftys
within 7 days. Very often, the manufacturers or seed
companies have not gotten the money to us by then,
but we understand you need a quick turnaround, so
we will do our best to take care of you as a customer.
