If you have always wanted to have a GPS guidance system on your farm, but were never sure you could justify the cost, now is your chance. Hemisphere GPS, makers of the Outback line of Ag guidance products has just introduced a product that they call the S-Lite. It is similar in appearance to their high end product the S2. The S-Lite provides basic "lightbar" guidance from 6" to 8" accuracy for half the price. For less than $1000, you can now have a quality GPS guidance product on the farm for spraying, spreading and tillage work. The S-Lite is only a guidance product. It is not capable to run auto-steer products or do RTK quality guidance; but for the money, it is an excellent replacement for a foam marker on your sprayer, and will provide return on investment in many of applications at a faster rate than other GPS products.
