Liquid Fertilizer Storage / Fertilizer Prices Increase Due to Weather Issues

Fertilizer Update by Rob Fritz

Fertilizer prices continue to increase in the Twin Cities due to possible spring supply issues.  There is concern about barge traffic having difficulties getting to the Twin Cities due to heavy ice and the late spring.  Today, we are focusing mainly on the more locally supplied liquid products due to the price being more competitive. Equipment Tips by Mike Bemboom

Liquid Fertilizer Storage

We get a lot of calls about liquid fertilizer from people looking into adding liquid into their fertility program.  Their questions range in topics from pricing to how to get it applied. You should also consider how you’ll handle or store large quantities of liquid fertilizer and how you’ll get it to your planter or other application equipment. There are quite a few options as far as tanks go for both portable or stationary units. There is usually a price advantage to taking bulk fertilizer early, which can help offset the cost of tanks. However, large tanks can take some time to get if they are not sitting on a local dealer’s lot. It’s not too late to get a storage system in place before spring.
