Fertilizer Update by Rob Fritz

Rob Fritz - rob.f@heftyseed.com

Intermittent product shortages continue at the terminals due to the early spring.  Barges are making it to the Twin Cities as planned, but planting is ahead of normal for this time of year, causing demand to be drastically higher.  Urea is priced insanely high, with no immediate relief in sight.  The high urea prices have caused 28% and 32% to go up in price, but supplies are great. Equipment Tips by Mike Bemboom

Importance of Proper Seed Handling

Handling your grain or seed is something that needs to be done, but moving it while causing as little damage as possible is the trick. Bean ladders can offer some help. Bean ladders installed on augers, conveyors, or in bins can reduce your handling losses and possibly germination losses, which is particularly important this year. They can also make handling your grain more quiet and less dusty by reducing the distance the grain must fall before contacting the next “rung” on the ladder. There are a few different styles to choose from, but all offer similar results.  Give me a call at 1-800-274-3389 if you have any questions. Click here to send Mike an e-mail. [table “1” not found /]
