Fertilizer Update by Rob FritzPrices on all products are highly volatile at this time. We have entered the spring season, which means that all bets are off in price predictions. Supplies are starting to roll into the Twin Cities terminals. It remains to be seen if that will affect prices in any way. Early planting will put restrictions on supplies and cause spot shortages. Equipment Tips by Jim Goodale
Drainage Tile Prices Expected to IncreaseWith the excellent weather we have been having, many of you are anxious to go to the field. If you are planning to do any tiling this spring either before or after planting, I would suggest getting the pipe on your farm now. Most years, the tile manufacturers have a large inventory built up to supply everyone for spring, but since many custom installers and farmers in the southern states were tiling all winter long, those inventories are not as big as in other years. The plastic resin market has been on a steady increase since December, and with high demand, I would predict to see a price increase in drain tile in the near future.
