Fertilizer Update by Rob Fritz

We are just beginning to see a few tons of fertilizer hit the terminals in the Twin Cities as the river is finally starting to de-ice.  Rail delays mean all of the potash supply is currently unavailable in all of the local terminals. Supply of 10-34-0 is also short as rail issues have delayed green acid deliveries.  I predict this trend to continue through planting season. Call us for more information at 1-800-274-3389. Equipment Tips by Mike Bemboom

Spring Planter Prep

Planters are a very important part of any farming operation.  Make sure your row units are ready to give your seed the best chance it can get.  Check your disc openers, residue managers, packer wheels and closing wheels for wear. Also, check all of the bearings on each of those items. You should additionally check your metering system for wear: mechanical fingers, seed brushes, corn and bean discs, seed tubes and drive system all need to be inspected.  Anything you can repair now will save valuable time while you need to be planting.
